Chapter 1.03
"I'm majoring in journalism, with a minor in bio chemistry." When she was twelve, a brother of one of her friends did an internship at a news agency. She had a crush on him. She fantasizes the two of them reporting news and stealing kisses in-between stories. That is when she fell in love with journalism.
"Did you want to work in newspapers or TV?"
"Hopefully TV with writing articles for newspapers on the side, but I'll be happy to just have a job."
"Have you been to New York before?"
"I was born here, but I haven't been here since I was a baby."
"Oh and why is that?"
"We went to Japan for my father's job; he died not too long after we moved."
"I'm sorry for your loss."
"Its ok, I didn't really know him." However, she feels like she did know him. When she was little her mother talked about him to her everyday even after she marry Kenji."
"Are you Japanese?"
"No, I have Chinese ancestry on my mother side."
"Why didn't your mother move back?"
"She didn't have the resources, she found a job as a computer programmer in order to save so we can move back, but during that time she fell in love with the business owner, and they were married." They are near to their destination.
